People are fed up!
People in the “cités” are not lazy. I don’t feel any prouder when they flatter me and say that others must also make efforts. They do, from morning till night.
People toil, they exhaust themselves fighting against the powerful grip of poverty, and yet they die unhappy.
In fact, we are pitted against each other. It’s an insult to poverty.
We’ve had enough of these insults! Within En Avant Moris, our duty is to loudly proclaim that it’s in the impoverished neighborhoods that people toil the most… to make the rich richer!
For the poor, there’s poverty, where one sinks deeper and deeper.
Instead of just offering pensions and unemployment benefits, every government must now rethink the economy to boost employment; especially youth employment.
Our youth are generous in effort and supportive in the face of challenges affecting their surroundings. The policies of the past thirty years have instilled anxiety, frustration, and anger in the souls of our youth.
We must remove all these negative and degrading elements to instill ambition in this Mauritian youth. Only then can the country propel itself towards a better future, where everyone is included with dignity.
