What Development, without Vision and Planning?

Everyone wants to do everything, and in the end, everything is done poorly. Because when politicians operate without a vision for development, our public administrations operate without planning, procedures, and accountability.

The result, we have seen it concretely: the government initiates a rail transport project supposed to propel us into modernity, and ultimately, many Mauritians end up literally in a mess!

  • Does this mean that city engineers issued excavation permits without knowing where the various conduits are located?
  • Does this mean that contractors were able to dig without the necessary permits?
  • Does this mean that utilities like the CEB, CWA, or WMA place their conduits wherever they want without the community knowing the precise location?

If we ask these questions, it’s because the En Avant Moris candidates already have an idea of our roles as representatives in the Assembly.

The deputy is the one who must ensure that local initiatives and national investments are well coordinated. This is not the case in several constituencies, and the examples are glaring.
