Labour Day: a tribute to workers
At the Workers' Monument in Rose-Hill, En Avant Moris laid wreaths to honour those who, through sweat and courage, shaped the country we inherit.
On 1 May, En Avant Moris leaders and supporters gathered at the Workers’ Monument in Rose-Hill to pay tribute to those who built our country — through their work, their struggle, their dignity.
Laying a wreath at the foot of this monument is more than a gesture. It is a promise. To defend, without faltering, the right of every Mauritian worker to fair pay, dignified conditions, and a life that is more than mere survival.
Labour Day does not belong to speeches alone. It belongs to those who rise each morning to keep the country running — in factories, in hospitals, in fields, in transport, in schools, in our homes.
To every worker of Mauritius, En Avant Moris says: we see your work. We respect it. And we stand with you.
